तुम ठहरते ज़रा तो सांझ का गीत सुनाती  लहलहाती पत्तियों का नृत्य दिखलाती उसके बीच से झांकते चांद के मज़ेदार किस्से बताती तुम ठहरते ज़रा  तो तुम्हें ख़ुद से मिलवाती                                                               -प्रावी 

Your footprints are on my shore Standing As if confirming  That you are still there Standing  As if confronting  That you are no longer there Standing  As if claiming  That once you were there Awe-struck You stood gazing at the vast calmness That lay bare in front of you Overwhelmed  For you never saw this before It enticed you It scared you So, when the waves did hit You flinched And backed off That's when you noticed the shore That was behind you all along Obscured by the remnants  Of the notorious past Littered by the things  That came out from the depths Every now and then And you also traced The marks of other people  You were not the only one  You wanted to be the only one Oh, the fallacy And the choice to run away Was all yours You thought you escaped  But you still reeked Of the sea-soaked air And the granules of sand Clutched your feet So, you took a shower at home Trying to wash it off To erase it all  Drenched yourse...
