Book
Once in a while
Open a person like a book
Slowly trace your fingers
Take a fine look
You might find the world
That lies beyond the pages
To enter, you must forget the language
That you've known for ages
Close your eyes
Listen to the different sounds
They'll take you on top
Of the memories' mounds
Let all your senses
Be truly alive
And you will witness
How they've survived
Never flip the pages with rage
You might get a paper cut
If the story doesn't amuse you
Don't make a fuss
For it was you
Who wished to open
And the Pandora's box
Always comes as a token
Don't just read
The words that are written
When you're only at the first chapter
Never get smitten
Take a walk with them
Between the lines
They'll show you
Within them, all that shines
Then there will be pages
That you must not open
Wait patiently
Until you're chosen
When time passes
Let them unfold
Come what may
Be ready to hold
Whatever you learn
Bury it in your heart
To respect their story
Should be your part
But what about the ones
That are torn
The dark secrets
That are long gone
Would you be frustrated
And go in search of them ?
What good it would do
To unfurl the shame hidden behind the hem
If you don't wish to stay
Close them with care
Don't burn the pages
Just because you were scared
If you stay, stand your ground
And hold their hand
If you found them fighting
Things you don't even understand
Then you might come across those
That are smeared with snot and tears
Would you consider it gross
Or embrace their despairs
Keep going ahead
And you may sit side by side
And see the wounds
They have always tried to hide
Finally, when you leave
Be grateful that they let you in
Because you never know
How lonely someone might've been
As you close the book
Always keep in mind
There are pages
That you might never find
